The following items are just some of those available to view and touch at the Interfaith Centre.

 

Clock Set

Made from plastic this set has eight clock faces. The additional faces display the times for (optional) prayers at sunrise and sunset.  A clock set is found in every mosque.

Faith Symbols Stamps

Key Stage 1 activity set.

 

Prayer Box (as shown below)

Contents: one Koran stand, hand-made from one piece of wood, with brass inlay; one string of wooden prayer beads; one Cotton prayer mat; one crocheted skull cap for a boy; one headdress for a girl.

 

Music CDs

A set of three CDs which include the call to prayer, Urdu folk songs and the reciting of parts of the Qur'an.

 

Religions Of The World DVD Box Set

Sir Ben Kingsley narrates this programme that looks at both the similarities and differences between the world's major religions.

 

Religious Symbol (as shown left)

The moon and star is now a symbol of Islam. Some Muslim countries have the moon on their flag.  This symbol was first used in Turkey.
